Marjorie Ann Patterson Obituary

Marjorie Ann Roberts Patterson went Home on Friday, January 2, 2026. The firstborn daughter, Marjorie—known as Margie to friends and family—was born on February 21, 1947, to Russell Lathean Roberts and Emma Louise Wilson Roberts. When Margie was a teenager, Russell accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior, an event that changed the Roberts family for generations to come.

Marjorie met the love of her life, Linville (LJ) Patterson, in Camby, Indiana, and they were married on May 7, 1966. After attending Frankfort Pilgrim College and Covenant Foundation College for a short time, Linville was ordained as a minister. During the first 20 years of their marriage, the young couple pastored churches in Louisiana, Iowa, Kentucky, and Indiana.

Four children were born to their union: Rebecca, Ronda, and twins Aaron and Karon. Margie deeply loved her children and desired to see them walk in truth, be strong, and stand for what is right. She was a busy mother, faithfully raising her family, serving as a pastor’s wife, and for several years helping to supplement the family income as part of a sales team.

Margie was an incredible homemaker who beautifully decorated the parsonages wherever they lived. She was creative, a great organizer, and loved entertaining in her home as well as decorating cakes for special occasions. Margie also served as a youth leader in several of the churches they pastored.

Margie had a vibrant and warm personality and enjoyed sales. For over ten years she sold and later became a team manager for Tupperware, earning commissions, awards, gifts, and multiple vehicles. Later in life she enjoyed crafting and created beautiful angel Christmas tree toppers. Her work was even featured in a newspaper article highlighting her talent.

Margie is survived by her husband, Linville Patterson; her children: Rebecca (Steven) Hoard of Hobe Sound, FL; Ronda Patterson of Kingston, TN; Aaron Patterson of Kingston, TN; and Karon (Jeremy) Willoughby of Cumming, GA; eight grandchildren: Emma Hoard, Ethan Hoard, Austin (Ana) Patterson, Blake (Holly) Patterson, Savannah Patterson, Lane (Delaney) Willoughby, Hunter Willoughby, and Makayla Willoughby; and two great grandchildren to be born in 2026.
She is also survived by one sister, Theresa (Rob) Freeman; one brother, Gary (Cindy) Roberts;  sisters-in-law Lola Faye Patterson and Linda May (JC) Neal, and many nieces and nephews.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Emma Roberts; her parents-in-law, Beedy and Elizabeth Patterson; and several brothers- and sisters-in-law.
