James Givens Obituary

James Ray Givens, age 78, of Rockwood, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at Roane Medical Center in Hariman.  He was born December 25, 1946 in Ozone, Tennessee in Cumberland County.  Jim was a United States Navy veteran who served his country proudly.  While serving in the military, stationed in Florida he met his wife and together they raised their two daughters.  Jim retired from CSX Transportation in Florida where he had worked as a Locomotive Engineer.  He was also a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.

 

Jim loved being a grandfather and spending time with his grandchildren.  He also enjoyed playing golf and fishing in his spare time, along with watching his favorite westerns.

 

Preceded in death by his wife, Vicki Givens; parents, Farris & Myrtle Bolin Givens; brother, Ronnie Givens.
