David F. Brummitt, age 82, of Kingston, TN, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 18, 2026.  He retired from Y-12 after 40 years of work as a welder.  He was an avid hunter, camper, fisherman, as well as a vintage car enthusiast. 

David is survived by his wife, Bonnie Williams Brummitt of Kingston; and son, William David (Bubba) Brummitt of Palm Harbor, FL.; his aunt, Peggy Jo Miles of Kingston; sister, Margie Shelton of Clinton Township, MI.; brother, George Brummitt (Kathy) of Kingston; nieces and nephews, Diane Shelton Millsap (Ron) of Columbiaville, MI., Susie Shelton Bieretta (David) Malcomb of Township, MI., Sharron Brummitt Parks (Bruce) of Kingston, Jeffrey Brummitt (Stephanie) of Kingston, Arron Brummitt of Johns Island, SC., and Rebecca Brummitt Kalman (Dennis) of Roswell, GA.; and special friends, Glenn Reynolds, Dennie (Connie) Nabors, Dail(Karin) Conatser, and Norm (Vickie) Kurtz.

David is preceded in death by his parents, David Mitchell Brummitt and Cora Belle Harrell Brummitt of Kingston; brothers, Mitchell Brummitt of Kingston, LeRoy Brummitt of Knoxville,  Leland Brummitt of Gastonia, NC.; and son-in-law, Jeffery R. Borgeson of Palm Harbor, FL.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 pm, Thursday, May 21, 2026 at Fraker Funeral Home in Kingston.  A graveside service will be held 11:00 am, Friday, May 22, 2026 at Roane Memorial Gardens in Rockwood with Rev. Bucky Kerr officiating.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks to please donate to your favorite charity in David’s honor.
