Billy Everette Jones Obituary

Billy “Bill” Everette Jones, age 78, of Harriman, woke up in the arms of Jesus Monday, March 17, 2025.  He was of the Baptist faith and loved the Lord. Bill was born October 9, 1946 in Harriman and after high school he joined the United States Army National Guards where he served his country proudly from 1966-1971, receiving several ribbons and badges of commendation.  After his military career he worked as a Sprinkler Fitter for over 40 years.  He was a previous member of the Sprinkler Union No. 669 of Maryland.  Bill was an amazing artist in the music industry and had played with numerous groups which included  Old Time Rock & Roll with The Grand Pres, Junction East with Lotsa Poppa, and Bluegrass with Lester Crick and Cedar Ridge.  He loved playing the banjo and enjoyed attending Bluegrass festivals.  He was also an admirer of antique cars and attended many car shows.  Preceded in death by his son, Doyle Everette Jones; parents, Clarence & Merle Jones; and the mother of his children, Bonnie Marie Jones.

The family will receive friends 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, Thursday, March 20, 2025 at Fraker Funeral Home.  Graveside service will follow at Roane Memorial Gardens in Rockwood at 2:00 pm, with full military honors conducted by the Roane County Honor Guard and Fort Campbell Active Military.
