Ann Silva Obituary

Mrs. Ann Frances Kellogg Silva, age 82, of Kingston, TN passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at Renaissance Terrace Health Care.  She was born in McGehee, AR to James B. Kellogg and Cecilia R. Kellogg on October 25, 1937.  Ann married her very loving and devoted husband, Adalbert “Mickey” Silva, in Houston, TX on July 26, 1958.  They were married at St. Michael’s Church on St. Ann’s Day.  She was a devout Catholic and attended mass regularly.

While raising three young children, Ann went back to school and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, an accomplishment that her husband was very proud of.  Ann and Mickey adopted their three beautiful children.  They loved their children and dedicated their lives to making sure they had the best life possible.  They never missed a baseball game, a gymnastics meet, a soccer game, a band performance, a parade, or a dance team performance.  Ann and her husband traveled all over the country making sure their children had lots of opportunities to see the US.  Ann enjoyed sewing, genealogy, quilting, bowling and playing card games.

After Mickey retired in 1989, they moved from Cumberland, MD to Mountain Home, AR.   They became foster parents providing loving care to a handful of children.  For eleven years they worked with the American Red Cross as disaster assistance volunteers.   Guam, Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, 911, the CA wildfires, the tornadoes in AR and MO were just a few of the trips they made to help others.  Ann and Mickey have also traveled extensively around the world, visiting many countries.  They have passed their love of traveling to their grandsons; Kyle, Drew and Alex.

Ann is survived by her husband, Mickey, of 61.5 years.  She is also survived by her son, Alan (Kim) Silva of St. Charles, MO and daughter Christine (Brian) Roschli of Kingston, TN, five grandsons, Evan (Brittany) Blankenship, Mason Blankenship, Kyle Roschli, Andrew Roschli, Alex (fiancée Destinee Dowdy) Roschli.  Ann is also survived by her nephews Jay (Dana) Kellogg, Richard Kellogg and nieces Therese Kellogg, Bea Dorsett and their families.  She was preceded in death by her son, Keith E. Silva, a brother, James R. Kellogg, her parents and many loved family and friends.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff at Renaissance Terrace, Caris Healthcare and the many family and friends who have visited, sent cards and prayed for us over the past several months.  We appreciate each and every one of you!
