Willie Maude Brackett Ward, age 96, a lifelong resident of Kingston passed away Thursday, October 27, 2011 at the Baptist Healthcare Center of Lenoir City. She was born March 5, 1915 in Kingston to the late James William & Maggie Ann Utley Brackett. She was a virtuous woman who thrived on seeing to the needs of her husband and children and loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends. She was a very special lady to everyone at the Baptist Healthcare Center. Mrs. Ward attended Southwest Point Baptist Church in Kingston as long as her health permitted. Preceded in death by her devoted husband, Rufe Ward; grandson, Gary Ward; parents, James William & Maggie Brackett; daughter-in-law, Brenda Sue Ward; Sister, Pearl Walden; brothers, Tom, Frank, Arch, James & Steve Brackett. SURVIVORS Sons William Ward of Kingston Johnny Ward & wife, Carolyn of Kingston Charles Ward & wife, Beth of Kingston Grandchildren Steve Ward & wife, Kim Ronnie Ward Denise Ward Several Great-grandchildren Sister-in-law Pauline Brackett of Kingston Several nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and friends. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Baptist Healthcare Center for the compassion, kind words and especially for the wonderful care shown to their precious mother during her time of illness. The Ward family will receive friends 5:00 - 8:00 pm, Sunday, October 30, 2011 at Southwest Point Baptist Church in Kingston with funeral service to follow at 8:00 pm, in the sanctuary with Pastor Larry Bolden & son, Bro. Johnny Ward officiating. Mrs. Ward will be laid to rest at 11:00 am, Monday, October 31, 2011 at Kingston Memorial Gardens. Fraker Funeral Home of Kingston is in charge of all the arrangements.
