Walter Russel Hensley, Jr., age 75, of Kingston passed away Saturday, January 12, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving wife, family and friends. He was born August 16, 1943 in Akron, Ohio and moved to East Tennessee in 1957. He was a United States Navy veteran who loved his country. Walter retired as a Plant Manager for a printing corporation after working 30 years in the Atlanta area and 15 years in Chattanooga. He was a member of Kingston United Methodist Church and also a member & Ranger at Lakeside Golf Course where he made a Hole in One in September of 2015. Besides being an avid golfer, Walter enjoyed fishing, boating and music. He and his wife, Brenda, had their own band for over 15 years. Preceded in death by his sons, Walter Hensley, III and Gregory Wayne Hensley; parents, Walter Russel Hensley, Sr. and Marie Wilkinson Hensley.

Extra special thanks to Dr. John C. Blitz for being such a wonderful friend and excellent doctor for many years; also to Covenant Home Health & Hospice and all the dedicated doctors and staff at Roane Medical Center for their special care during Walter’s sickness. Special gratitude to the cafeteria workers who always took time to provide any foods requested without question. Thanks to everyone at Lakeside Golf Course who he considered family.
The family will receive friends 11:00 – 12:00 noon, Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Fraker Funeral Home with Celebration of Life following at 12:00 noon, in the chapel with Dr. William Henry presiding. Continuation of Celebration will be held 1:00 – 3:00 pm, Saturday at Lakeside Golf Course in the Club House, 736 Paint Rock Ferry Road in Kingston with military honors conducted by the Roane County Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to St. Jude Children Research Hospital, P.O.
